  • Turmeric

Description of ingredients;

>Black pepper:

The active ingredient of black pepper is Piperine. Piperine is able to modify supplement and drug metabolism, that means it has the ability to ‘unlock’ the beneficial properties of turmeric, particularly the anti-inflammatory effect of turmeric.

Turmeric has a long tradition of anti-inflammatory properties, which in this instance are unlocked by the black pepper. Piperine is required to give curcumin to the extremities rather than it getting consumed by glucuronidation in the liver. However, in some other cases it can lead to elevated levels of certain drugs in the blood therefore, do your research!

Piperine inhibits a process in the liver called glucuronidation, which means it attaches a molecule (glucuronide) to drugs to signal for their urinary excretion. Glucuronidation prevents excessive levels of drugs and supplements in the body, however sometimes it inhibits the uptake and renders some supplements useless.

Not all are subject to it so by ingesting piperine, excretion of supplements is hindered and certain drugs and supplements can bypass this regulatory stage. More info
